Governor Seriake Dickson of Bayelsa State has converted the Governor's Lodge into a hotel to generate revenue for the state. Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Investment, Cyril Akika, who disclosed this to newsmen in Yenagoa, said N2.8 billion has been set aside to fully transform the lodge into a world class hotel with 18 presidential suites. Bayelsa State Government has presented a cheque worth N2 Billion to Anyiam-Osigwe Group Limited for the completion of a three-star hotel project in the State Capital, Yenagoa.
Contract for the project, which is sited at the Ox-Bow Lake area, was awarded by the Dr. Goodluck Jonathan administration when he was Governor of the State.
Relating to the issue of false allegation of fraud against one of our Executive Directors and member of our Family Mr. George Anyiam-Osigwe; our position is that the said allegation is totally false and baseless based on the clear facts surrounding the issue and evidence in support of same. No $5m commission was ever paid to George Anyiam-Osigwe nor any official in our Group or other member of our Family either as claimed or at all.
